Who am I?

My name is Katy Miller. I’m a junior in Winthrop house, Social Anthropology concentrator, originally from Rhode Island, blah blah blah. Let’s get to the real stuff: I’ve always loved to write, but discovered that I wanted an opportunity to do so in a different style than the ways in which I did at Harvard. I wanted to attach part of my personality, myself, in the words on the page. It all started with a feature I wrote on spinning at Harvard (watch for it in the second issue!), and I found that I really connected with the message of The Voice. I liked the fact that the whole point is to connect with the community at large; to facilitate communication between all members here at Harvard. I liked that everyone’s voice is valid here; that it’s all about getting ideas, stories, thoughts and questions out there. This was something I had not discovered at Harvard before.

For the inaugural issue, I worked on the Private Life section as Senior Editor, working with a great team of people to make sure the content is as interesting and relevant as possible. In this venture, I’ve found a chance to put my compulsively organized skills, love of writing, and fascination with people together. I’m so glad you’re reading this right now – holding The Voice’s first ever issue in your hands. Please, please get in touch with me at kmiller@fas.harvard.edu if you’d like to contribute to the Private Life section...I bet you’ll be just as engaged and excited about it as I am.
